Drug Uses
Altace (Ramipril) is used for treating high blood pressure and decreasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in certain patients. Altace (Ramipril) may also be used to treat congestive heart disease following a heart attack or for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Altace (Ramipril) is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by causing blood vessels to relax so that blood flows more freely and at a lower pressure. It also increases the heart's ability to pump blood in some types of heart failure.
